On-site Boarding Houses are Ross House and Balmacewan House. The Chapel, Davies' Sport Centre, and Edgar Learning Centre are on campus. The Library is central to teaching and learning and offers books, magazines, ebooks and audiobooks. The Year 7–8 facilities are purpose-built and well-resourced, with specialist teachers. The college also operates a Second Campus at Te Anau Downs for adventure-based learning, and a canteen provides healthy meals and snacks.
The Davies' Sport Centre is a central on-campus sports facility. There are sports fields and table tennis facilities on campus. The school has a long-standing and active sports program.
The Edgar Learning Centre is an academic facility on campus. The Library is central to teaching and learning and has the latest books, magazines, ebooks and audiobooks. Year 7–8 students benefit from purpose-built, well-resourced facilities and specialist teachers.
Music and drama productions are regular calendar highlights. A Silent Band Suite was developed within the Music Department to support performance music. Outdoor education and school camps are a feature of the co-curricular program, including experiences at Te Anau Downs.
John McGlashan College is a state-integrated boys' secondary school in Dunedin, New Zealand, serving Years 7–13 with on-site boarding. The college offers the IB Diploma Programme alongside Learning Pathways 2024, with Years 7–8 taught in homerooms where Integrated Studies and Mathematics form a foundation; core subjects are taught by specialist teachers. Year 9 continues Integrated Studies in homerooms.
