Aduvie International School is a co-educational Nigerian-British curriculum school located in the Jahi District of Abuja. Founded in 2008, it sits on a 6.1-hectare campus and offers day and boarding options for Crèche through Pre-University levels, including a Special Education Needs (SEN) programme with therapists and a Jewel class for learners with additional needs. Learning emphasises active thinking and problem solving through open-ended tasks. Learning support is structured, rigorous and targeted to help students improve academically. The Guidance and Counselling Unit provides services for personal/social and career development to help students become self-directed and independent learners.
The school has a Special Education Needs (SEN) department with qualified staff. The SEN program has enabled students with special needs to undertake external exams such as IGCSE, WAEC, NECO and Checkpoints since 2019. The school provides speech and behavioral therapies for students who may require them at no additional cost. Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are prepared for each learner at the start of every session and reviewed termly. Shadow support is available for some learners with special needs.
The Guidance and Counselling Unit provides services for personal/social, educational and career development for all students. Counseling helps students understand themselves and make informed choices. Personal guidance includes individual or group counselling, using an eclectic approach. The unit provides educational and career guidance, including scholarship opportunities and university admissions support (IELTS and SAT). A mentorship program pairs students with school parents to support educational and personal development.

1. Age eligibility. Aduvie requires age eligibility for each year group as of August. The age requirements are: Crèche 3 months to 1 year 6 months; Pre-K One Ruby 1 year 6 months; Pre-K Two Sapphire 2 years 6 months; K-Emerald 3 years 6 months; K-Tanzanite 4 years 6 months; Year One 5 years 6 months; Year Two 6 years 6 months; Year Three 7 years 6 months; Year Four 8 years 6 months; Year Five 9 years; Year Six 9 years 6 months; Year Seven 10 years; Year Eight 11 years. Most children are sixteen years old on average at graduation from the secondary school. The age requirements determine eligibility to sit the entrance examination.
2. Completing the application form. The application form is completed by the parent or guardian and signed, not by the child. The child's name should be entered as it should appear on all school records. A valid active e‑mail address is required to facilitate communication. The form is returned to the school's Administrative Office, and the Admissions Office will advise dates for the entrance test. The Secondary admission form costs N5,000 and can be purchased from the Aduvie International School Admin Office.
3. Application requirements / supporting documents. A Completed Registration Form must be submitted. Immediate Past Academic Records for the past two years are required for Secondary and Primary admissions, and the past one year for Nursery admissions. A copy of the child's birth certificate or data page of the international passport, four recent coloured passport photographs, English translations of non‑English records, a Medical report, Immunization records for Nursery, a photocopy of the parent's identity card, and two passport photographs of the parent are needed. If transferring from another school, provide the Transfer Certificate and a reference from the previous Principal.
4. Assessment. All applicants must sit the school's Placement Test, which lasts forty‑five minutes for nursery and primary and two and a half hours for the secondary placement test. The test assesses language, mathematics and General Paper (or relevant course subjects for higher classes) to diagnose strengths and determine next steps. Candidates should bring writing materials. Entrance tests are held every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Abuja, with additional testing sessions offered later subject to space.
5. Oral interview. A short interview is conducted for candidates who pass the placement test. The interview assesses the candidate's ability to communicate, personality traits and background information and clarifies expectations for both family and school. The school reserves the right to decline admission if capabilities or needs cannot be met.
6. Admission processing period. Aduvie's academic year runs from September to July. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. Admission is processed once all required documents are received. Upon offer, an acceptance is indicated by payment of a non‑refundable acceptance fee of N100,000 as part of the school fees.
7. Acceptance and registration. After admission is offered, the acceptance fee of N100,000 is payable and becomes part of the school fees. Parents are to read the Parents Handbook, complete all registration forms attached to the handbook, and submit them to the front desk before paying school fees.
8. Registration forms. Registration forms for the Secondary section and the Nursery/Primary sections are available at the front desk or can be printed from the school website. The forms include Student Personal Information, Student and Parent undertakings, and other required documents; the process continues until all steps are completed.
