Chrisland School was founded on October 3, 1977, when 5 students were welcomed to the school. By the end of that first academic year the enrolment grew to 31. A growing demand led to a new location in Opebi opening in 1978. In 1987, the family-owned group established Chrisland College as its first secondary and boarding school. Today, Chrisland Schools comprises seven nursery and primary branches, including three creche schools, six secondary schools, and one sixth-form college.
Chrisland Schools places a strong emphasis on community service as a core value. Programs include volunteering, fundraising for social causes, environmental campaigns, visits to orphanages and elderly homes, and mentoring for underprivileged children. In April 2021, the management and community upgraded the science laboratory at Opebi Primary School and updated facilities as part of giving back to the community. On June 19, 2023, Chrisland Pre-Degree College students and staff visited the Holy Family Home for the Elderly in Mushin, Lagos.
The Parents/Teachers Association meeting holds every term to deliberate on issues relating to the welfare and academic progress of the learners. PTA morning events are part of Chrisland's community life. Parents can volunteer to support school activities, and information about volunteering is available on the Parents page. The Parent Policy outlines engagement guidelines and involvement expectations for families. The School also notes a Teacher Parenting Scheme as part of the broader parent-teacher partnership framework.
