Academic and Intellectual

The school delivers the National Curriculum for England across the Junior and Senior Schools, beginning with Foundation Stage for children aged two and a half to five, followed by Key Stages 1 to 3. In Key Stages 1 and 2, English, Mathematics and Science are taught alongside Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education, and History, Geography and Religious Education as part of Topic. Specialist subjects include Music, Art, Computing, French, Physical Education and Swimming, with African Studies added to reflect local heritage. In Senior School, the curriculum continues under the English National Curriculum, with Year 7–9 spanning 11 departments and 15 subjects, and Year 10–11 offering IGCSE courses across 28 subjects, including English, Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish), the Arts and more.

Arts and Creative

The curriculum includes Music and Art as core subjects, with specialist teachers delivering Music, Art, Computing, French, Physical Education and Swimming. French is taught as a foreign language within the curriculum. Extra-Curricular activities cover the arts and performing arts, including Ballet, Fencing, Gymnastics and Taekwondo, as well as Creative Dance and Craft. The school encourages participation in ECAs to extend learning beyond the classroom.

Cultural and Language

French is taught as a language within the curriculum. African Studies is included to reflect heritage and local context. French also features in Extra-Curricular (Teacher-Led) Clubs alongside other language and cultural activities. The overall provision supports language learning and multicultural awareness as part of a broad education.

Social and Hobbies

A wide range of after-school activities is offered, including Teacher-Led Clubs such as Writing skills, Swimming, Football, French, Coding, Creative Dance and Craft, among others. Externally led clubs are run by specialist coaches and include Ballet, Fencing, Gymnastics and Taekwondo. These ECAs are a popular aspect of CIS life and provide opportunities to pursue diverse interests beyond the classroom.

Community and Service

Pastoral care is a priority, with the Pastoral Support Team including the Head of Junior School, designated safeguarding leads, the School Counsellor and Year Coordinators. The school works with parents, support staff and outreach agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

Leadership and Professional

Chadsworth Sixth Form College provides a wide choice of A-level subjects and offers internships, co-curricular and pastoral support to enrich studies. Individual career guidance and tailored university application processes help students prepare for higher education. The college aims to guide students toward opportunities at top universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and beyond.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Pastoral care is a priority, with staff dedicated to creating a safe, happy, confident and fulfilled environment. The Pastoral Support Team includes the Head of Junior School, the designated safeguarding leads, the School Counsellor and Year Coordinators, and a dedicated School Counsellor is available to pupils. Welfare and safeguarding are emphasised, with a focus on home–school partnerships to support each child's wellbeing.
