History is taught across lower and middle school by class teachers, with Years 6–8 receiving specialist teaching. Pupils study history from Ancient Egypt through the 20th century, developing knowledge of British, local, and world history and learning to analyse sources and present arguments in essays. A whole-school Nigerian history project leads to presentations by pupils and creative displays around the school. Pupils build thinking and literacy skills through discussion, extended writing, and source analysis.
Ballet forms part of the curriculum in Reception and Years 1–2, with lessons guided by the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi. The Art and Design curriculum supports creativity through drawing, painting, 3D work, textiles, collage and printing, with artworks exhibited around the school and a weekly 'Picture of the Week.' An Artist in Residence supports creative development and pupils have opportunities to showcase their work. The Music program offers performance, composition and listening, with opportunities to learn piano and violin and cross-curricular links to humanities.
From age three, French, Spanish and Mandarin are introduced at Hampton Prep, with early language learning taught through songs, rhymes and stories. The language department aims to give every pupil the chance to learn at least one foreign language, trial different languages, and encourage advanced language learning. Language lessons are delivered with props, actions and drama to make learning engaging, and examples include Bob le bricoleur for French and La Chenille qui a tres faim. The program introduces a wide range of languages through extra-curricular clubs.
After School Care Club is available daily from 2:30pm to 6:00pm at an additional cost. Chess Club is offered as part of co-curricular activities, alongside a range of other clubs. Pupils can also participate in language, sport and arts clubs as part of the co-curricular programme.
Swimming is taught as a life skill with safety, health, and enjoyment in mind, and annual inter-school galas are held in addition to regular meets. Ballet forms part of the curriculum for Reception and Years 1–2; lessons include live pianists and use Royal Academy of Dance syllabi to build physical and artistic confidence. Taekwondo develops coordination, discipline and fitness, and teaches self-control and non-lethal self-defence. Physical Education and sports aim to develop physical confidence and health, and all pupils participate in matches, galas and tournaments.
