ICS runs Reading Month with special events to promote literacy. The school hosts a Book Fair and a Poetry Café as part of school-wide activities. There are numerous after-school clubs that support academic and intellectual interests.
Students may take keyboard, violin and drum lessons. The school has two music rooms for performance and practice. Art and photography are showcased through student exhibitions as part of school-wide events.
French and Spanish are offered as part of the curriculum. The school hosts a French Assembly as part of its cultural programming. Nigeria Day Celebration and other cultural events are part of school-wide activities.
ICS offers a wide array of clubs. Wednesdays and Thursdays are Club days led by teachers and external leaders. The Student Council promotes student interests and organizes school-wide activities such as parties, movie nights, bake sales and fundraising for charity.
High School students have a community service requirement of 20 hours per year. Students have participated in projects such as assisting a blind school, raising funds to aid IDPs, visiting local orphanages and providing material assistance.
The Student Council provides student representation from grades 4 to 12 and organizes school-wide activities. Meetings are held quarterly and feedback is passed to the teacher-link. Mentoring and counselling services are available to students.
ICS runs sports teams including soccer, basketball, volleyball, athletics, badminton, table tennis and swimming. Physical Education is part of the curriculum. The campus features a gymnasium and a nurse's clinic as described in the school brochure.
International Community School Abuja offers an enriched American curriculum with Cambridge IGCSE, taught across Play Group to Grade 12. It is a day school with a boarding house opened for Grades 6–12 in 2017. Early Years programs cover Language Arts, Math, Science and African Studies, plus Music, Art, IT, Library and Bible/Moral Instruction, with weekly kindergarten clubs. Elementary, Middle and High School build on core subjects while expanding specialist classes and electives such as Drama, Psychology and Technical Drawing; language options include French and Spanish. In Grades 9–10 students prepare for the IGCSE O level before progressing to university admission worldwide. The school is accredited by CIS and MSA, with local Abuja DQA accreditation. Facilities include a main library above the Music and Arts Studios, three science laboratories, a cloud-based ICT system, a gym and a nurse's clinic. After-school activities, clubs and a 20-hour community service requirement support the program.
