Facilities Overview

Rainbow College Boarding is located in Asese village, Mada, Ogun State, about 15 minutes from the old Lagos toll gate along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The boarding hostels are air-conditioned, fully-equipped and separated into four houses: Einstein, Dalton, Newton and Freeman. The welfare of pupils is at the forefront, supported by a pastoral and academic team including certified matrons, guidance counsellors and a Vice Principal. The dining hall provides a balanced, nutritious diet prepared by trained chefs. The campus emphasizes safety with 24/7 security and safety systems; cashless transactions are used for purchases, and on-site nurses provide medical care.

Sports Facilities

Rainbow College has a dedicated sports complex on campus including a basketball/volleyball court, a football pitch, and a tartan track, with a swimming pool and gymnasium listed on the boarding map. The campus facilities support a range of athletic activities through the Sports Complex and dedicated outdoor courts. Extra-curricular sports and physical activities are emphasized, including clubs such as Football and Basketball among others.

Academic Facilities

Rainbow College blends British and Nigerian curricula, enabling exams from five major examination bodies. Junior Secondary School (ages 12–14) has 12 core subjects and 3 electives, while Senior Secondary School (years 10–12) offers 12 core subjects and 3–4 specialization subjects from 20 options, plus 5 Trade and Entrepreneurship options. The Boarding School Curriculum details two external examination phases: JSCE and Cambridge Checkpoint for years 7–9, and IGCSE and WAEC for years 10–12, with additional preparation for university entry exams such as IELTS, SAT, TOEFL and JAMB.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Rainbow College offers 14 co-curricular clubs, including Art, Catering and Craft, Busy Hands, Chess, Choreography, Drama, Elocution and Debate, Graphic Art and Animation, Music/Band, Press, Photography, Science and Young Farmers. In addition, there are sport and outdoor activity options such as Fitness, Double-Dutch, Football, Martial Arts and Basketball.

Rainbow College blends British and Nigerian curricula to serve day and boarding learners aged 10 to 17 in Lagos. The Junior Secondary years offer 12 core subjects with three electives, with Nigerian JSCE and Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint, the latter internationally recognised. Senior Secondary students study 12 core subjects plus three to four electives from 20 options, with final exams including Cambridge IGCSE and WAEC; WAEC and NECO SSCE are important for Western Africa. The college also prepares pupils for university entry with IELTS, SAT, TOEFL and JAMB. Day campuses are in Surulere and Ikota, and the boarding campus is in Maba, Ogun State. Rainbow traces its origins to 1996 as Lagos's first all-boys private college, with Rainbow College for Girls in 1998; the 2005 merger created a co-educational international school. Rooted in Christian faith and pastoral care, Rainbow emphasises character, leadership and service, complemented by sport, clubs and facilities.
