Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

St Saviour's School Ikoyi was founded in 1951 by leading members of the Nigerian and British communities in Lagos. It is a Christian School in the Anglican tradition, welcoming children of all beliefs who share our core values. The period 1951–1990 saw infrastructure growth, with the addition of more classrooms and subject facilities such as art, science and music rooms, and a staff room. In 1983, a new administration block was commissioned, and the school's development continued with ICT laboratories, interactive learning spaces, playing fields created through land reclaimed from the lagoon, and a purpose-built library funded by the Board of Management; the Specialist Classroom Accommodation Block completed in July 2025 includes a STEM workshop, a science laboratory and garden, and a dedicated music and drama room. The school is a member of COBIS, IAPS and AISEN, and ISI's latest inspection rated it Excellent.

Community

St Saviour's School Ikoyi is a British Curriculum School of approximately 340 children and delivers the English National Curriculum in a Nigerian context. The Head Teacher describes the school as an inclusive learning environment where everyone is valued. A flagship Fun Day, Big Smile, Kind Heart, is scheduled for Saturday 21 March 2026. The calendar also lists a PTA Fun Day on 21 March, an Interhouse Science Competition on 13 March, and Lower KS2 productions. Accreditations include COBIS, BSO and ISI.
