Manglerud International Classes is housed within Manglerud skole, a public primary school in Oslo, located at Plogveien 22. The program uses English as the language of instruction and follows the IB Primary Years Programme for Grades 1–6 and the IB Middle Years Programme for Grades 7–10. It runs 22.5 hours per week, including 3 hours per week of Norwegian Language Acquisition. The teaching is inquiry-based and IB-aligned, with no grades given until year 7 and regular progress reports. The IB authorizations were granted in January 2019 for the PYP and in March 2023 for the MYP.
The academic program is English-language and IB-aligned, using inquiry-based learning as the basis for teaching and learning. It covers Grades 1-6 for the PYP and Grades 7-10 for the MYP. Students do not receive grades until year 7; written progress reports are issued at the end of the school year, and parent/teacher conferences are held twice a year.
Manglerud skoles kor is open to students from 2nd grade and up; rehearsals take place on Fridays in the music room (basement, Building A) from 14:00–14:45 for 4th grade and up and 14:45–15:30 for 2nd–3rd grade; the choir has performed at concerts and school events. Sign-up is via the provided link and the fee is 800 NOK per semester with a sibling discount. Manglerud AKS offers after-school care from 07:30 to 16:45, with base leaders and structured daily routines; information about AKS is available on Manglerud's site.
Manglerud Skole – International Classes is a public IB program in Oslo offering an English-language curriculum for students aged 6–16. It houses the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Grades 1–6 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Grades 7–10, with IB authorization in 2019 (PYP) and 2023 (MYP). Instruction emphasizes inquiry-based learning, with a six-year PYP Programme of Inquiry; the MYP covers eight subjects in Years 7–9 and six in Year 10, and a foreign language is required in Years 8–10. In Year 10, core subjects include Mathematics, Humanities, English Language and Literature, Arts (Music and Visual Arts), Integrated Sciences, and Norwegian Language Acquisition, with continued study of French/Spanish/German. Well-being is a pass/fail course. The program runs 22.5 hours per week, including 3 hours of Norwegian Language Acquisition. Written progress reports and twice-yearly parent–teacher conferences monitor progress. Located at Plogveien 22, the campus hosts a choir and after-school care. The International Classes will close in August 2026; admissions require Oslo residency and the right to education.
