History

Norlights International School Oslo (NLIS) opened in 2015 as a state-funded private school in Oslo, Skådalen. It welcomed 1st–5th graders in its first year and now serves students from Grade 1 to Grade 10. NLIS is part of Norlights Education AS, a Norwegian educational holding company that owns four subsidiary companies. NLIS is an IB World School offering the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme, with the Diploma Programme also available as part of IB education.

Community

The school has about 200 students and 30 staff, representing more than 40 nationalities. Diversity is celebrated and all students are free to be themselves. NLIS provides a range of clubs and activities, including Music Choir Club, Art Club, Ski Club, Gardening Club, Piano & Guitar Club and BrainoBrain. The IB framework guides learning, with the school implementing the PYP and MYP and offering the DP as part of its IB program.
