Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Al Raneem International Private School was founded in 2013 by Karim Baksh Al Balushi, an established educational leader. It began as Al Raneem Private School and later adopted a bilingual Cambridge International curriculum, with the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) for Kindergarten. In 2017, the school rebranded to Al Raneem Private School, reflecting its evolving international orientation. By ministerial decision No. 30/2023 issued on May 16, 2023, the school changed its category to International Private School and adopted the name Al Raneem International Private School, becoming the first school in Oman in its category to receive upgraded international status. The ownership is held by Karim Baksh Al Balushi, who serves as Owner and Chairman.

Community

The school fosters a community where learning extends beyond the classroom through events and performances. Public-facing materials describe learning through performance, public speaking, cultural celebrations, and academic showcases as core elements of the school's community activities. An intramural football competition and other sports events engage students and families on campus. Facilities such as a dedicated school theatre support student performances and community events.

Parent-Teacher Association

Public information on the school's pages does not publish a dedicated PTA with named committees. Parent involvement appears through school-hosted events and communications rather than a formal PTA page. The events page lists activities that involve families, such as Learning Through Performance and a Football Intramural Competition; these events serve as occasions for parent participation. The school is led by Karim Baksh Al Balushi as Owner and Chairman, indicating a centralized governance structure. Public materials frame the school's international program governance through Cambridge curricula, Ai and NCPSA accreditation, and CIS membership.
