The school implements the Cambridge Primary Years Program for Grades 1–4, with subjects including English, Arabic, Mathematics, Science, Islamic Studies, ICT, Global Perspective, Physical Education, Arts, and Music. In Grades 5–8, Cambridge Checkpoint is used as part of the Cambridge pathway, alongside the bilingual Oman curriculum. The program combines Cambridge qualifications with local curricula to prepare students for secondary education.
MGIS has a dedicated music program with a music room and instruments such as piano/keyboard, accordion, guitar, drums, and more. Music education emphasizes creativity, discipline, teamwork, and performance, with group singing and instrument performances at assemblies and on special occasions. Art classes cover drawing, painting, sculpture, and design, with opportunities to explore media and regular gallery visits.
Kindergarten is taught in both English and Arabic. Arabic language activities include the Arabic Language Competition, Reading Month, Speaking Competition, the Young Narrator Contest, and story-writing competitions. There are Arabic language groups such as the poetry group, theater and drama group, and the oratory group that participate in internal and external activities.
MGIS hosts in-house events such as sports days and cultural festivals, plus outdoor picnics and educational field trips, and social gatherings. National Day celebrations provide opportunities for student participation in group activities and cultural reflections. Daily assemblies and outdoor learning sessions are part of the school routine.
Islamic and Moral Education includes social and charitable activities, such as charitable projects, markets, and donations. These activities promote social responsibility and ethical awareness.

MGIS provides a sports ground for physical education and outdoor activities. Daily assemblies, sports competitions, and outdoor learning sessions support physical health and well-being. Playground equipment is maintained daily and meets safety standards.
