Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

King's Group was founded in 1969 by Sir Roger Fry. King's College School Panama opened in 2012 as Panama's only accredited British curriculum school. The group was acquired by Inspired Education Group in 2019. KCSP's first graduating class occurred in 2020, and in August 2022 the school moved to a new purpose-built campus beside the rainforest, marking its 10th anniversary in September 2022. In 2023 KCSP earned High Performance Learning accreditation and an Outstanding British Schools Overseas inspection, with the first IB graduation, and in 2024 the first founding students graduated.

Community

King's College Panama has a diverse community with families from over 47 nationalities and 90 percent native English-speaking staff. The community is framed by three heartbeats: British heritage, Panamanian identity, and an international mindset, and the school is part of the Inspired Education Group. The school follows Inspired's three-pillar approach—Academics, Performing & Creative Arts, and Sport—and offers Extracurricular Activities such as Global Camps and the Global Exchange Programme.

King's College The British School of Panama (KCSP) provides a British international education for ages 2 to 18. The school follows the UK National Curriculum with IGCSE examinations and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the sixth form, while integrating elements of the Reggio Emilia approach and Cambridge practice within a multi-curriculum framework. Instruction is in English with full immersion; French is offered as an option and Panamanian studies are integrated where required. The curriculum is delivered across Key Stages 3–5 by subject specialists, with High Performance Learning embedded across KS3. The campus is in Clayton beside the rainforest, relocated in 2023 with updated facilities including EYFS, art studio, libraries, three science labs, ICT room, music and dance spaces, and air-conditioned classrooms. KCSP earned HPL accreditation and Outstanding British Schools Overseas inspection in 2023, with first IB graduation that year and first cohort of founding students graduating in 2024.
