The school is promoted by COFAM, Center for Family Guidance, a nonprofit civil association legally established since 1973, which acts as the promoting entity, the legal guardian, and the one responsible for maintaining its axiological line. The school began operating in 1987 and currently serves primary and secondary levels. The organizational structure includes: Governing bodies — Board of Directors; General Director; Lines of work — Directorate of Studies; Directorate of Guidance and Family; Directorate of Administration and Finance; Supporting units — Chaplaincy; Department of Communications and Promotion; Department of Psychopedagogical Services; Assistant to the Director; Admissions Department. Colégio Alpamayo is a male-only Catholic school in Lima, Peru, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 10 and 11, with a bilingual option including at least two English-taught Higher Level subjects such as History. The DP is taught within a six-subject IB framework spanning Language and Literature, Languages, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and Arts or Electives, with core elements Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Activity and Service.
