Languages of communication are Spanish and English. Official communications are sent in both Spanish and English. The language of instruction is English, and from age 3 the school teaches another language. The school provides resources to support English as a foreign language, including a reading program (Plan Lector) and bilingual staff, and offers exchange opportunities with English-speaking countries.
English is the language of instruction. From age 3, Prescott provides English immersion with half the day in Spanish and half in English. Teachers are bilingual and students are encouraged to use both languages. The program follows CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) principles, with some subjects taught in English as part of the IB continuum.
Preschool immersion in English begins the language program. Some classes are taught in English as part of the bilingual approach and the IB framework. Prescott promotes intercultural experiences, including student exchanges with English-speaking countries.
Prescott is a private day school in Arequipa that delivers the International Baccalaureate continuum from early childhood to pre-university. Preschool through High School participate in the IB continuum: PYP for Preschool to 5th, MYP for 6th to 9th, and DP for 10th to 11th. The school educates students aged 3 to 17 and places inquiry, reflection and active inquiry at the heart of learning. A Cambridge Center authorized to offer Cambridge assessments expands the options for qualifications alongside IB. The campus has 61 years of operation, with 1,367 students and 210 teachers and staff across Preschool, Elementary, Middle and High School.
