Scholarships are awarded by the Director in coordination with the Promoting Entity for economic reasons. Scholarships may be granted as a percentage of the current pension and only for the period requested; they do not cover the enrollment fee. Eligibility factors include orphan status and family economic need. Scholarships are typically awarded to the eldest child in the family; they do not apply to only-child families or to students in Early Childhood or in the Diploma Program. Applications for scholarships based on lack of resources require a joint request from both parents or the guardian, addressed to the Director, and must include: a sworn declaration that the family lacks resources to cover the pensions; documents proving family income and expenses as specified in the scholarship convocatoria; declarations of property and vehicles; any other documents requested by the Director; and payment of the processing fee (which may be waived in cases of death, incapacity, or imprisonment of the payer). For scholarships based on lack of resources, other required documents include the death certificate, medical certificate of incapacity, or court order as applicable. The Promoter and the Director evaluate scholarship requests and provide a response in the first half of January; in cases of orphanhood, incapacity, or imprisonment, the evaluation occurs within ten calendar days of submitting the request. The school reserves the right to verify the accuracy of scholarship requests and to request additional information. Scholarships may be suspended or reinstated based on the documented conditions and the child's academic and behavioral progression. Suspension for orphanhood is generally one quarter, with potential resumption if the circumstances change.
