Villa Caritas School was founded on April 21, 1981, by a core of families seeking a different educational proposal rooted in the Christian concept of love and charity. It is an educational community inspired by the Catholic faith, offering a solid personalized and well-rounded education and working with families to provide a differentiated educational experience with co-education spaces and high academic standards in a bilingual environment. The school emphasizes its Catholic identity and high academic standards. The vision is to be a Catholic educational institution that is a national and international benchmark for the human and academic formation of its graduates and their role in the comprehensive and solidary development of society.
The Houses System fosters leadership, integration and healthy competition within a framework of dynamic community learning. Leadership development is supported through the Prefects, enabling students to assume responsibilities and strengthen school culture. Family and social integration are promoted because families are part of each House, creating a solid support network beyond the classroom. The system emphasizes camaraderie, healthy competition, and coeducation through joint activities; the Gallery shows cultural events such as XI Semana Cultural San Pedro y Villa Caritas and related cultural activities.
The APAFA (Parents Association) is elected by the parents for a two-year term and represents families in dialogue with the school, serving as a meeting and communication space to channel concerns and collaborative efforts. Classrooms delegates are mothers who act as representatives between the school and other parents, promoting student integration and organizing solidarity initiatives. Grade delegates share policies and reflections generated in the school with the parent community. The Parents section notes that parents are primary educators who contribute to their daughters' formation and participate in activities and meetings; there is a Marriage and Family department that builds an authentic family culture through participatory activities. The APAFA board for 2025-2026 includes President Carlos Bisso, Secretary Mariana Higueras, Treasurer Gabriela Chávez, and members Angelina Cavassa, Alessandra Eastes, Sergio Da Costa, and Giselle Mendoza Casalino.
Villa Caritas School is a private Catholic girls' school in Peru that welcomes students from age 1 to 18 and partners with its sister school San Pedro. It offers a bespoke curriculum alongside the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Cambridge IGCSE, with English as the language of instruction from Early Years and about 80% of classes taught in English. From grade 3, students study a third language, with German or French; the school provides DELF for French and Sprachdiplom for German. Cambridge ESOL assessments (YLE, PET, FCE) are part of the progression, culminating in IGCSE English B HL. The 148-acre campus hosts MakerSpace for STEAM projects, extensive sports facilities, and an Arts Program featuring film, visual arts, music, and theatre. An annual film is produced with the University of Lima, and students undertake study trips and solidarity activities. The Catholic identity and academic standards underpin a truly holistic, worldwide education.
