Accompaniment is a fundamental pillar of Villa Caritas' educational approach. It promotes personal knowledge and helps students become the best version of themselves. Education is person-centered, nurturing both academic and personal development from the early years. Together with families, students learn to face life, cope with frustrations, and develop social responsibility. A Student Personal Plan (PPA) is created at entry to provide continuous, comprehensive guidance as students progress. The Guidance Program guides self-discovery and university planning, with individualized support from a dedicated counselor.
Learning Support Services (LSS) are provided, led by a professional specialist in learning problems; each level has a specialist and there is a general coordinator working with the Psychopedagogical, Acompañamiento and academic teams. The Universal Design for Learning (DUA) framework is used to ensure inclusive access and multiple pathways for learning. In-class differentiation is implemented with strategies such as extra time, seating adjustments, and varied tasks to meet diverse needs. Evaluations, adaptive accommodations, and supports such as an Individualized Support Program and inclusive adaptations are used to address learners with disabilities or talents. Exam accommodations for IB Diploma and other assessments are available as part of the inclusive approach.
English immersion begins in Early Years with bilingual teachers, and 80% of classes are taught in English, a format maintained through Lower School, Upper School, and the IB program. Students certify their English through the Cambridge ESOL scheme, with tests including YLE, PET, FCE, followed by IGCSE and English B HL to ensure an advanced level at graduation. From the 3rd grade, students may study a third language, with German or French offered; there are DELF certifications for French and Sprachdiplom for German.
The Guidance Program plays a key role in the comprehensive development of students and supports the adolescent life project. In upper school, it guides self-discovery from grade 9 through to the culmination of grade 11 or the second IB Diploma year, including the university selection process. The Guidance Counseling department provides individualized support to each student, helping them explore Peruvian and international universities and make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. A Student Personal Plan (PPA) is developed to support ongoing personal growth in collaboration with families. The school emphasizes developing personal and social skills as part of daily learning experiences.
Escuela Segura ensures the safety of students by fostering a safe environment. Staff receive Virtus training, a globally recognized program for safeguarding adults, children and youth. A psychopedagogical team responds quickly to any suspected violence, and the Convivencia Manual establishes behavior expectations and consequences. Comprehensive safety protocols address risks including nursing care, convivencia protocols, emergencies, earthquakes, and internal supervision. An Ethics Code outlines expectations for behavior and inter-personal relations, and staff undergo thorough recruitment to ensure alignment with the school's safeguarding standards.
Villa Caritas School is a private Catholic girls' school in Peru that welcomes students from age 1 to 18 and partners with its sister school San Pedro. It offers a bespoke curriculum alongside the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Cambridge IGCSE, with English as the language of instruction from Early Years and about 80% of classes taught in English. From grade 3, students study a third language, with German or French; the school provides DELF for French and Sprachdiplom for German. Cambridge ESOL assessments (YLE, PET, FCE) are part of the progression, culminating in IGCSE English B HL. The 148-acre campus hosts MakerSpace for STEAM projects, extensive sports facilities, and an Arts Program featuring film, visual arts, music, and theatre. An annual film is produced with the University of Lima, and students undertake study trips and solidarity activities. The Catholic identity and academic standards underpin a truly holistic, worldwide education.
