The school offers International Baccalaureate programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP) since 2014, Middle Years Programme (MYP) authorized on December 14, 2016, and Diploma Programme (DP). The Primary years run from Nursery (3 years) to Grade 5 (11 years). The PYP focuses on the holistic development of the child and their capacity for inquiry and discovery in the classroom and the world around them. The programme is taught in its mother tongue (Language A), the language of instruction (Language B), and the additional languages French and Mandarin Chinese. The fundamental objective is to form internationally minded people who, aware of their common humanity and the shared responsibility to care for the planet, contribute to a better and more peaceful world. The curriculum includes the Primary Years Programme, the Inquiry Programme, and the PYP Exhibition, and the school also offers the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.
The school offers opportunities for international study and exchanges, including trips to the United States, France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, Taiwan, Colombia and Mexico, to reinforce international mindedness and leadership. There are about 10 hours per week dedicated to intensive English language learning. The school is a Cambridge official examination center. Primary students take Cambridge Young Learners English Tests (YLE Starters, Movers, Flyers); Secondary students take the Cambridge exams corresponding to their level: KET, PET, FCE, CAE or CPE. Students master the language and can certify it at national and international levels through Cambridge certificates. A modern foreign language pedagogy is used, with small groups and active participation in well-equipped language workshops. The teaching staff includes both national and international professionals.
The school provides psychological and emotional support as part of student wellbeing. It offers tutoring and educational guidance within the wellbeing framework. The Wellbeing Committee leads the planning and oversight of Tutoría, Educational Guidance and School convivencia to promote wellbeing. The school uses restorative practices to prevent and address conflicts and coordinates with families for intervention. The school maintains confidentiality and handles wellbeing concerns with care, providing sustained support to students.
The school has safety, health and student wellbeing protocols, including entry/exit and security procedures. The Wellbeing Committee oversees convivencia and inclusion and coordinates with external authorities if necessary. It uses restorative practices and notifies families to intervene in cases of violence or harassment. Incidents of violence and harassment are registered in the SíseVe system and in the school's incident log, with reporting to authorities as required. Parental involvement and staff training support safeguarding and a culture of safe, democratic convivencia.
1. Age eligibility and vacancies. Children must meet the following age requirements by March 31 of the admission year: Nursery — 3 years old; Pre-kindergarten — 4; Kindergarten — 5; First grade — 6. The vacancies available for Little Byron and First Grade are: Nursery 15; Pre-kindergarten 20; Kindergarten 15; First Grade 10.
2. Admission priorities. Vacancies are distributed in this order: 1. siblings of current students, children of alumni or staff who meet the admission procedures; 2) an equitable distribution between boys and girls; 3) date of submission of complete documentation.
3. Admission procedure — Registration and form submission. To begin the admission process and access the admission form, a payment of S/. 350.00 soles is required; the payment is non-refundable and non-transferable for the services provided during the admission process. 4. Documentation submission and interview. After payment, the admission forms will be emailed; once all documentation is ready, the file must be brought to the school's Secretariat to be evaluated; incomplete applications will not be accepted. After submission, a personal interview may be scheduled if further clarification is required.
5. Results, fees and dates. Admission results will be communicated by email within 7 days after submission. If the decision is positive, the Parent Declaration in the Admission Process and the account details for depositing the entrance fee will be provided. The entrance fee is USD 6,100.00 and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Important dates include enrollment beginning October 14, 2023 and payment of the entrance fee within 7 calendar days after the admission decision.
