History: Markham College was founded in 1946 by a small group of British businessmen who sought a British-style education for their sons. It began with 72 male students and 7 teachers. Today, over 75 years later, Markham College is a fully co-educational institution serving more than 2,000 students from Foundation Stage 1 (ages 3+) to the International Baccalaureate. The school has a large international staff and a bilingual English-Spanish learning environment, with an international curriculum.
Markham Community is built on the contributions of the Board of Governors, APAFA (Parents' Association), OMA (Old Markhamian Association), and the Markham Trust. The Board of Governors oversees operations and long-term strategic vision; the Markham Trust supports educational excellence and social and educational projects in underprivileged Peruvian communities. The Old Markhamian Association fosters lifelong connections and runs events such as OMA Football and Basketball Championships, OMA Luncheon, Gold and Silver Jubilee Celebrations, networking sessions, and social gatherings at restaurants and cultural venues. APAFA fosters collaboration between parents and the school to support students' education.
APAFA is an active and integral part of the Markham community, fostering collaboration between parents and the school and emphasizing parental involvement in supporting students' education. The current APAFA Board includes: Natalia Degregori Quimper (President); Aimi Yamamura Kinjo de Camacho (Vice President); Jose Luis Sarrio Abad (Treasurer); Diego Roda Lynch (Secretary); Daniela Augusto Dellatorre (Vocal, Early Years); Pamela Gonzales Hoyle (Vocal, Primary); Sandra Cubas Quesada (Vocal, Secondary). The Markham community is encouraged to stay connected with APAFA for updates and participation.
