The Personal, Social and Emotional development (PSE) programme is part of Markham's education. PSE sessions are held twice a week in Early Years, with one session led by the class teacher and the other by a dedicated student support specialist. These sessions develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions. Focusing on PSE helps students form healthy relationships, manage their emotions, and build confidence. The PSE programme extends through to the fourth year of secondary school, ensuring ongoing emphasis on personal and social development.
Special needs are identified. Tutors and teaching assistants are alerted to any special needs that may exist. They will suggest how to support the student to overcome it and prosper academically.
The school provides a bilingual education. English immersion is a core feature, with Foundation Stage 1 providing an important learning foundation for our English Immersion and Personal and Social Education (PSE) Programmes.
