The school was founded in 1950 in a house in the district of San Isidro, fulfilling the dream of a group of parents who wanted to provide first-class education to their children. The Educational Services Cooperative in Peru was formed by 103 families sharing the same values and ideals. Mr. Manuel Sánchez Palacios was the first President of the Cooperative and, with support from the United States Embassy, he hired Alie M. Allen, the first North American Principal of the school. With rapid growth, the institution expanded and inaugurated its current La Molina location in 1981. The International Baccalaureate programs were later implemented, with the Primary School Program, the Middle Years Program, and the Diploma Program authorized by the IB. Classes have started uninterruptedly to date.
The Lincoln community includes students, parents, teachers, administrative personnel, maintenance staff, and staff in charge of the school shuttles. The school hosts cultural and artistic events, including a theatre production titled Abraham Lincoln, The Man and His Legacy. The Green Team MYP campaign engages the community in service and solidarity initiatives. Alumni achievements and student work are highlighted in school communications, including recognition of alumni such as Dr. Luis Andrade and ceremonies for Personal Projects.

Abraham Lincoln School in Peru is an International Baccalaureate World School serving students aged 3 to 18. It offers PYP, MYP, and DP, along with the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP). The campus in La Molina covers about 50,000 square meters, with an arts building, science laboratories, three libraries, a 120-seat auditorium, a coliseum, an athletic track, and two official soccer fields. The school operates as a bilingual community, delivering instruction in English and Spanish, and offering Mandarin Chinese and French as third languages. The Diploma Programme includes core courses such as Theory of Knowledge, CAS, and a Monography, with Peruvian subjects in Religion, Physical Education, and Performing Arts. The school was founded in 1950 and relocated to its current La Molina campus in 1981; IB programs were introduced thereafter. With over 1,350 students, the school emphasizes a multicultural, engaging environment and extensive after-school programs, clubs, and sports for families.
