The Pestalozzi Swiss School Peru is a private, mixed and neutral institution offering Swiss-integrated education from early childhood through secondary, with access to the International Baccalaureate, and a multilingual program in German, French, English and Spanish. Since 1941, it has combined modernity and tradition to provide a diverse, experiential education and has grown thanks to the support of a strong school community. In 1943 the school obtained the operating license and began classes with 16 students in a private house on Zela 205 in San Isidro; Karl Huber became director on January 1, 1947. In 1948 classes moved to La Aurora, Miraflores, with 251 students, marking a shift when Peruvian students outnumbered Swiss students. In 1951 MINEDU authorized mixed education and German language became mandatory from first grade; the auditorium was built in 1956, and the school continued expanding under successive directors.
The Pestalozzi community is a large family formed by students, parents, alumni and staff. The Student Council is an elected body that represents students to school authorities, can propose changes, organize events, and collaborate with teachers to improve the student experience. La Vaquita is produced exclusively by students to promote reading and writing; primary students publish articles on current events, sports, interviews, opinions, recipes, jokes and curiosities with photos or drawings. Alumni Pestalozzi is a growing network of former students whose achievements reflect the school's ongoing commitment to excellence.
