Pupils can choose from a wide range of co-curricular activities that arouse their interest and give them different experiences—from sport, music and drama to personal development and community service programmes. Extra-curricular activities are conducted by teachers and outside experts. They provide a productive break from study, help students build their skills outside the classroom, and broaden interests. The programme includes debates, ecology and sciences, and opportunities for scientific experiments and board games.
The co-curricular programme includes theatre productions and musicals, drama, and a broad range of arts activities. Students explore pottery, ceramics, painting, sculpture, jewellery making, origami, and other visual arts. Music is offered through wind and strings groups, choir, orchestra, and individual instrument lessons. Photography, cine club, and crafts such as jewellery making and handicrafts are also available.
Language learning is a priority at San Silvestre. In Secondary, courses are taught in English, with Spanish and French offered. The school supports multilingual development through language programmes across year groups.
Students may participate in theatre productions and musicals, debates, and a variety of arts activities, including photography and cinema. The programme also offers dance, gardening, and a range of crafts and clubs such as chess, origami, and Peruvian cooking. These activities foster friendships and teamwork among students. Sports and physical activities include swimming, volleyball, basketball, football, softball, athletics, hockey, table tennis, badminton, aerobics, and gymnastics. These activities promote physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and well-being. Physical Education and swimming are integral to the well-being focus.
San Silvestre School is a long-established co-educational institution serving learners aged 3 to 18, blending a global international programme with its British-Peruvian heritage. The curriculum features the IB Diploma Programme, Cambridge IGCSE, and Cambridge International AS Levels. In the Primary Section, learning follows a cross-curricular framework that fuses the British National Curriculum with the Peruvian National Curriculum, underpinned by the Essentials Curriculum designed by Chris Quigley. This inquiry-based approach covers Information Technology and Computing; Art, Music, Drama and Games; Physical Education; Personal and Social Education; and Religion or World Views, with French introduced in Grade 4. The school runs a bilingual English/Spanish programme, with English and Spanish as core languages and French as an additional language; Mandarin Chinese and Italian are optional. In Secondary, pupils may pursue the San Silvestre Diploma via a one-year Cambridge AS Levels or IB subjects, or follow the Cambridge IGCSE pathway and IB DP options.
