Uniform Requirement

Uniforms are mandatory. The school has an official uniform for females and for males, plus a gym uniform. Girls wear a navy plaid skirt (primary or secondary), a white polo, a Scotland-pattern sweater for primary (waistcoat optional), a blue zip-up sweater for secondary, white sneakers, white socks, and an optional blue jacket. Boys wear navy trousers, a white polo, a Scotland-pattern sweater for primary (waistcoat optional), a blue zip-up sweater for secondary, white sneakers, white socks, and an optional blue jacket. For Physical Education, girls wear a PE skirt; boys wear navy shorts with the school emblem; both genders wear a white polo with blue and yellow trim, white sneakers, white socks, and a gray sweatshirt; Pre-Kinder wear the PE uniform year-round.

Food Options

The school offers on-site cafeteria meals for lunch in a spacious, fresh dining area. Recess and lunch times are scheduled by level: Early Years recess 10:00–10:30 and lunch 11:40–12:25; Primary recess 9:50–10:10 and 2:40–3:00 with lunch windows 11:40–12:25 (grades 1–2) and 12:25–1:10 (grades 3–6); Secondary recess 9:35–9:45 and 12:35–12:45 with lunch 2:05–2:40.

House System

WASIS – CASAS: The school is divided into WASIS (houses) comprising four teams that include students, families, teachers, and administrative staff. Wasi means house in Quechua, and each Wasi represents Peru with its three natural regions and the sea. Students represent their Wasi in the Olympics, floral games, and other events. The named WASIS include Zorro de Sechura, Challa (Arena), Otorongo, Sacha (Arbó l), Oso de Antejos, and Yacu (Agua).

Governance and Ownership

The school is organized with a Director, supported by administrative staff (10), teachers (54), workshop teachers (22), and psychologists (6). There is an Alumni Association and a Parents Association (APAFA) that coordinates with families, manages initiatives, and administers resources raised for the school. The institution was founded as Villa Alarife in 1998 and emphasizes a bilingual, culturally aware educational program led by experienced educators.

Villa Alarife School is an IB World School in Peru serving ages 3 to 18, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alongside a bilingual education with a strong emphasis on English. The bilingual approach develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and provides access to international certifications. Founded on November 19, 1998 by Decree RD No. 3908, it began as a three‑level institution and now serves about 600 students across roughly 26 classrooms from Pre‑Kinder to 11th grade. Facilities include classrooms for up to 25 students, laboratories, a library, green spaces, and sports areas; all secondary classrooms have a computer, a multimedia projector, and an interactive whiteboard. In 2011, a sports field with football, basketball, volleyball and an athletics track was inaugurated. The program includes study trips for grades 7–10 to Tarapoto, Cajamarca, Arequipa, and Cusco and participation in external competitions such as ACE and interschool debates. A Debate Club, various arts events, and the Festival of Music and Dance enrich campus life.
