BEIS was founded in 2008 by a group of parents to provide international-standard programs for Boracay's diverse nationalities. It offers Nursery to Grade 8 and began in partnership with the German European School Manila, which has IB World School accreditation. BEIS is fully accredited by the Philippines Department of Education to provide elementary and secondary education. Today BEIS has a campus with 10 classrooms, an ICT laboratory, an outdoor gym, and an air-conditioned school bus.
BEIS emphasizes cooperation and communication; every member of the BEIS community—parent, student, faculty, and staff—is committed to developing and supporting the school's mission. There are many options for families to receive and share information, reflecting a priority on open communication. The Gymnasium serves as the venue for sporting activities, assemblies, special events, and PTA functions, illustrating how community life centers on school facilities. BEIS describes itself as a community where parent involvement and collaboration with staff support student development.
The BEIS board consists entirely of parents and ex-parents of BEIS students. The Gymnasium is the venue for PTA functions, in addition to sporting activities and assemblies. BEIS is described as a community where parent involvement is central to school life. The cooperation and communication emphasis means there are many options for families to receive and share information. PTA functions are part of BEIS's broader school events and community life.
