Faith Academy was established in 1957 by missionaries seeking a dedicated educational environment for their children. It began with 47 students and 6 teachers in a donated house on V. Mapa Street in Manila. In 1961 land was purchased east of Manila in Rizal, and the 1962-63 school year opened at the new campus with 212 students. The first graduating class completed in 1965, and the school later faced Typhoon Yoling in 1970, which destroyed about 60% of the campus. Faith Academy is governed by a self-perpetuating board of trustees drawn from the missionary community.
Faith Academy's community is multinational and mission-focused, welcoming students from missionary families, international staff, and Philippine nationals. Gospel integration anchors campus life, with weekly chapel in every division, small groups, and a Spiritual Emphasis Week, and students regularly serve in ministries around Metro Manila. Students participate in clubs and organizations such as Model United Nations, National Honor Society, International Thespian Society, Worship Team, and Youth Group, promoting leadership, service, and cross-cultural collaboration.
Faith Academy does not publish a standalone PTA page on its site; parent involvement is organized through a volunteer program coordinated by a Volunteer Coordinator. Parents may volunteer as coaches, classroom assistants, playground staff, substitute teachers, or library helpers, and participate in campus life on an informal, non-contract basis. Volunteer opportunities are described in school communications and coordinated by the Volunteer Coordinator to match campus needs. Volunteers contribute across the campus year-round and help with events and programs that touch athletics, arts, and student leadership. The four-house system (Kaio, Anastasis, Machaira, Tharseo) supports mentoring and collaboration across grade levels, creating pathways for family involvement. Overall, the school emphasizes flexible, faith-centered service rather than a traditional PTA model.
