Reach International School (RIS) was established in 2006 to be an alternative school for students and families seeking a non-traditional setting. It began as a modest learning center offering remediation and intervention programs, welcoming a range of students, including those with special educational needs. RIS adopted the School of Tomorrow (SOT) system, an American program widely recognized for its individualized learning, and emphasized smaller class sizes and a less structured environment. Over time, RIS developed a dedicated special education department to support students who required additional learning supports. RIS operates as a non-stock and nonprofit educational institution.
RIS school activities are an integral part of the school program, designed to involve students in leadership, collaboration, and problem solving. Foundation Day, UN and Kamayan Festival, World Teachers' Day, Annual Show, Anthology Soirée, Primary School Family Day, High School Night, Retreat and Recollection, field trips, intramural sports, and E=MSA are among the annual events. The school offers clubs such as Art Club, Glee Club, Math & Science Club, and Digital Media Club, which promote creativity, music, science, and technology. The Student Council provides student leadership opportunities and acts as the voice of the student body, and there is a Social Action program focused on volunteering and community service.
The school does not publish a dedicated Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Parent engagement is described through other channels, including Parent Orientations listed under Guidance and Counseling Services. Guidance & Counseling Services include Admission, Student Discipline, Counseling, Career Counseling, Student Council and Leadership Training, Behavior Modification, Reach Educational Assessment Division (READ), and Student and Parent Orientations. READ is an educational evaluation and assessment division used to inform individualized education planning. The school lists Student Council and Leadership Training as part of its student guidance program, indicating structured ways for student leadership involvement rather than a PTA. Family involvement occurs through annual events such as Foundation Day, UN and Kamayan Festival, World Teachers' Day, Annual Show, Anthology Soirée, and Primary School Family Day, and community engagement is supported by clubs and Social Action programs.
Reach International School (RIS) offers Preschool through Senior High School (Levels 1–12) in a modern, inclusive learning community. The General Education Program combines the Singaporean Curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science with the Philippines K-12 framework for other core subjects, and the Common Core State Standards for Social Studies. RIS provides a dedicated Special Education Program, including a Gifted Program (Modified Education Program and LEAP) and an Inclusion Program to support diverse learners. Language programs include English as a Second Language (ESL) and a Special Filipino Language Program, along with an Oral Communication Program. After-school interventions cover reading and math, and there are Music and Art offerings as part of Extra-Curricular Programs. Learning modalities include Face-to-Face, Online, and Hybrid, supported by a Learning Continuity Plan. Facilities include a Science Laboratory, Library, Cafeteria, Music Room, Guidance Room, Clinic, Vocational Education Room, Computer Laboratory, and Art Room. The campus is located on Sacred Heart Street in San Antonio Village, Makati City.
