British International School of the University of Łódź was established in 2013 after Łódź businessmen Amit Lath and Pradyot Sinha presented the idea of a British‑style education to the city's mayor, Hanna Zdanowska. The University of Łódź joined the initiative, and BISUL was formed within two weeks. The school grew rapidly—from 13 pupils to 145 pupils representing more than 20 nationalities in seven years—and moved from the university campus on Matejki to Fabryczna 4 to accommodate growth. It is governed by a company structure with a Foundation of the University of Łódź as owner, and BISUL holds accreditation from Cambridge International, COBIS, the International Baccalaureate, and the Ministry of National Education.
British International School of the University of Łódź is a community that is passionate about academic progress, social development, and personal enrichment of all pupils and students. We nurture inquiring, knowledgeable, and empathetic global citizens who strive to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. We emphasize understanding and tolerance of other cultures, environmental awareness, and a healthy lifestyle as core aims of our education. The openness to diverse nationalities and close links with the University of Łódź strengthen community life.
Parent involvement is a priority at BISUL. Open communication between parents and administration is central. Parents participate in the BISUL community through social events and PTA meetings. The school maintains channels for parent engagement through ongoing dialogue and formal PTA activities.
