Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Montessori Farm School emphasizes social and emotional development within a community-focused environment. Staff live on-site and act as mentors, supporting students through daily life on the farm and in study. The program includes individual guidance and group counselling techniques to help students build self-esteem and resilience. Students learn collaboration, responsibility, and conflict resolution through daily chores, farming activities, and teamwork in the classroom and on the farm. The Upper School mission states that the development of social, emotional, and reasoning skills is essential for independent, creative thinking and active participation in local and global communities.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Math and IT are taught in English and Polish. Science is bilingual, covering biology, chemistry, geography, and physics. English studies and preparations are part of the curriculum. World Languages in the Upper School include English and Polish as the main instructional languages, with Spanish offered as a second language and private tutoring in French or German. The adolescent and upper school programs provide multilingual contexts to support English-language learning and broader language development.

Mental Wellbeing

Pastoral care is provided by qualified educators who live and work at the school in a safe environment. The learning environment supports students' self-discovery and growth. The program focuses on developing social and emotional competencies through guided mentorship and inclusive practices. Daily routines, practical work, and collaborative projects foster confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. The mission emphasizes nurturing social, emotional, and reasoning skills to prepare for independent life in the community.

Montessori Farm School in Poland is a private, bilingual Montessori community for adolescents aged 12 to 18, with a residential option for upper secondary students. It sits within the Warsaw Montessori Family network and extends the Montessori ethos into a farm-based, real-life learning environment. The curriculum blends Montessori methods, the IB Diploma Program at the pre-IB level, and a bespoke Polish high-school alignment. English is used for entrance interviews and instruction, while Polish is taught alongside Spanish as a second language, with private tutoring in French or German available. The Upper School operates from the Center for Study and Work at Radzyń Podlaski and provides hands-on, place-based education that begins with Visual Arts and Theatre and extends through biology-chemistry and math-physics. Students live on site, work on the farm, and run small enterprises, selling vegetables, honey, and crafts, fostering independence and social responsibility. Extracurriculars include beekeeping, arts, and cultural celebrations.
