Fees and conditions below apply to the Willy‑Brandt‑Schule (WBS) for the 2025/26 school year.
Application and registration fees
- One‑off enrolment (registration) fee: PLN 2,000 for the first child in a family; PLN 1,000 for each additional child from the same family.
- One‑off refundable deposit (security): PLN 6,000 for one child; PLN 8,000 for two or more children (school and/or kindergarten). The deposit is refunded without interest when the last child leaves after deduction of any outstanding liabilities; reimbursement is transferred to the account named on the final clearance form.
- Fee for entrance/placement test for entry to Grade 1: PLN 100 per child.
Tuition (annual) — amount per pupil
- Annual tuition per pupil: PLN 31,922.60. This single annual figure applies across the school's years/grade levels (kindergarten through Grade 12). The cost of required textbooks and learning materials is included in the tuition.
Tuition — instalments and per‑term detail
- Full‑year payment option: pay the full annual tuition by 31 August.
- Instalment option: tuition may be paid in four equal instalments. Payment dates for the four equal instalments are 15 September, 1 December, 1 March and 1 June. Each instalment (annual tuition divided by four) equals PLN 7,980.65.
- Prorating on mid‑year entry: when a pupil is enrolled during the school year, the started month is charged in full.
Family discount
- Full fee is charged for the eldest child; a 10% reduction applies automatically to each additional sibling enrolled at the WBS (also applies to the German kindergarten).
After‑school care (Nachmittagsbetreuung) — other regular costs
- Charges listed per half‑year (PLN):
- 1 day/week: PLN 600
- 2 days/week: PLN 1,200
- 3 days/week: PLN 1,600
- 4 days/week: PLN 2,400
- 5 days/week: PLN 3,000
- Occasional extra afternoon session (not regularly booked): PLN 70 per afternoon. No refund is given for individual absence days because the fees are charged as a flat half‑year package. Extracurricular group (Arbeitsgemeinschaften) fees — Grades 5–12
- Fees per half‑year (PLN):
- 1 AG: PLN 320
- 2 AGs: PLN 430
- 3 or more AGs: PLN 540
- Participation in AGs that contribute directly to school life (e.g., musical/theatre, school band, choir, debating club) is cost‑free. Fees for AGs must be paid in advance; absences do not lead to refunds.
Religious instruction
- Voluntary Catholic religious instruction in the international branch: PLN 100 per school year for one weekly hour, PLN 200 per school year for two weekly hours.
Boarding
- Boarding is not offered; boarding fees are not applicable.
Refunds and contract termination
- If the school contract is terminated by mutual agreement, the school will refund the remaining (unused) portion of paid tuition. If parents unilaterally terminate, the notice must be received by the school by 30 June to take effect at the end of the school year. For medical reasons (long‑term inability to attend), a pro‑rata refund is possible upon presentation of a medical certificate; the contract ends at the end of the calendar month in which the request is made and the remaining tuition is refunded pro‑rata from the first day of the following calendar month. Only monthly instalments for whole calendar months after termination are refunded.
- Special cancellation penalty: if parents give notice between 1 July and the first school day of the next school year (an unfavourable timing), parents are obliged to pay a contractual penalty of EUR 1,000 (or the PLN equivalent at the Polish National Bank exchange rate on the day of payment), unless the board waives it.
Collections, late payment and debt
- The school issues reminders for missed payments (first reminder two weeks after the due date; second reminder after a further two weeks) and adds statutory interest. If payment has not been received after further notice, legal steps and possible exclusion of the pupil are possible. The school may demand outstanding sums and may terminate the contract for non‑payment.
Payment method and currency
- All fees are to be paid by bank transfer. Transfer charges are borne by the payer; for international transfers ensure that the full PLN amount is received by the school's account. The school's bank transfer details are used on invoices. Credit‑card payment is not listed as an accepted method.
Other regular obligatory or recommended payments
- Annual membership contribution (recommended) to the German School Association (Deutscher Schulverein / Niemieckie Towarzystwo Szkolne w Warszawie): PLN 300 per member per school/kindergarten year. This fee is independent of the number of children attending.
Notes on included/excluded items
- Textbooks and teaching aids are included in the tuition. Fees for certain extracurricular activities or additional materials where applicable may be charged separately and are not eligible for school‑fee remission.
German and Polish are the predominant nationalities.

It serves children aged 3 to 18, with a kindergarten, primary school and secondary levels I and II. The curriculum follows German general education standards and Abitur requirements based on Baden-Württemberg and Thuringia curricula. Two educational pathways are offered: a German-language program and the Polish-language 'Internationale Abteilung' where German language skills are built gradually toward the Abitur. The school is the only German Auslandsschule in Poland offering a German-system education. Instruction is delivered by native German-speaking staff and qualified local teachers. Since 2005 it operates under the Deutsch-Polnisches Schulabkommen as a joint educational institution. Notable features include practical science components, the WBS Music Academy, and athletic development through a Football Academy. A scientific cooperation with the University of Warsaw supports inquiry, internships and career events; after-school care provides a range of activities.
