Located in the heart of Lisbon, Astoria International School is a private school with a central, peaceful setting. The campus provides more than 600 m² of indoor space and 450 m² of safe outdoor areas. Its facilities include a library, a laboratory, an arts studio and dedicated sports areas, designed by architects and interior designers to support curricular and extracurricular activities and student well-being. The facilities are an extension of the school's philosophy, combining functionality, comfort and care. Multilingual education begins English-Portuguese bilingual learning and progresses to include German and French.
The campus includes dedicated sports areas as part of flexible learning environments. The campus features outdoor playgrounds used for physical education. Football and Rugby are offered as extracurricular sports on a weekly schedule.
From Nursery to Middle School, the educational pathway is continuous and aligned with high international standards. Our facilities include more than 600 m² indoor space and 450 m² outdoor areas. The indoor spaces include spacious classrooms, a library, a laboratory and an arts studio, plus dedicated sports areas. Teaching follows a Modern School Movement approach and is grounded in Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences, supporting differentiated and personalised learning. The multilingual program starts bilingual in English and Portuguese, then adds German and French.
To occupy non-teaching hours, AIS offers a library, study and support rooms, leisure spaces and outdoor playgrounds. Examples of extracurricular activities include Baby Yoga, Judo, Children's Ballet, Piano, Football (Figo's School) and Rugby. Chess is offered to develop memory, concentration and reasoning, with sessions twice a week. Language courses in English through Cambridge, and German, French and Portuguese for foreigners are available, with sessions twice weekly. The Astoria Choir is a free extracurricular activity with weekly rehearsals.
