Founded in 1999, CLIB is a private/particular, co-educational, non-denominational school for children aged 3 to 18. English is the principal language of teaching and learning; the Lower and Early Upper School use the English National Curriculum. The Upper School prepares students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations and the AICE Diploma (AS and A2). CLIB is part of a network of Luso-International schools started with Colégio Luso Internacional do Porto and maintains connections with ECIS; the curricular programme is designed to provide equivalency with the Portuguese educational system and with other international schools to facilitate university access. Spanish is compulsory from Form 5.
Interculturality is at the heart of CLIB, which serves a multicultural and multilingual student body in Braga and promotes a vibrant, inclusive community. The campus is a closed campus to prioritise safety, and the school emphasises a strong extracurricular programme including social development, sports, and performing arts, with day outings, field trips, and residential trips to support learning.
Parents are the first and utmost important participants in their child's education. Parents participate in the daily life of the school by proposing suggestions to the Management Team, providing feedback, and helping with parents' training and development. They assist faculty and administration in extracurricular activities and participate in the evaluation of curricular and extracurricular programs, providing general support to the educational process.
