It is an independent, coeducational, open-admission school with bilingual teaching in English and Portuguese, following the National Curriculum of England. It is located in central Tavira in a 15th-century building considered a historic landmark, with 16 classrooms and facilities including a science laboratory, a music studio, a radio station, a computer room and a canteen. Class sizes are capped at 18, and the staff includes 17 teachers, 2 classroom assistants, and 6 support staff. Student results are above the UK average; the first A-Level student in 2013 was admitted to the California State University, Long Beach, and graduates have gone on to universities in Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Portugal.
