Foz School

FOZ School is a Portuguese educational initiative offering a bespoke, bilingual curriculum for learners aged 3 to 14. It sits on a 10-hectare nature reserve, 45 kilometers from Lisbon, providing a fully natural educational setting where inquiry and joy are central. The program spans Early Years (ages 3–6), Primary (ages 6–12), and Middle School (ages 12–14). In Early Years, learning is inquiry-based, individualized, and grounded in play and close contact with nature. Primary education emphasizes project-based learning and constructivist math to foster meaningful understanding, collaboration, and critical thinking across subjects. Middle School centers on independent student‑led projects within a strong socio‑emotional framework, cultivating observation, inquiry, and essential life skills. Outdoor activities and direct engagement with nature are integral, promoting well‑being, creativity, and personal expression within a joyful, supportive community. The bilingual approach supports language development across the curriculum, preparing students for intercultural collaboration and future study in Portugal or abroad.
