Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

The International Christian School of Cascais (ICSC) was founded in 1980 and is located in the village of Cascais. It provides a North American–style academic education grounded in Christian principles and morals. ICSC serves the children of missionaries as well as the international community. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Private Schools (K-12) and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The high school program partners with the University of Nebraska High School (UNHS), an internationally recognized institution accredited by Cognia and NCAA.

Community

Spiritual Emphasis is part of the program, with chapel weekly and exposure to various topics and guest speakers. A Special Events Calendar is planned by staff and the Parent's Club to encourage social interaction, raise funds, and increase community awareness. Class projects and a range of sports, co-curricular activities, and field trips are organized throughout the year. Guidance counselors support students and high school students attend career expositions and guest speakers.

Parent-Teacher Association

The school has a Parent's Club that works with staff to plan a calendar of events each year. The Parent's Club helps encourage social interaction among students and families. The events are designed to raise funds and increase community awareness. Examples include student and teacher football matches, charity drives, and the annual Christmas Production. The Parent's Club collaborates with staff and administration on event planning.
