The LFCL implements an inclusion policy for pupils with special educational needs. The lycée day runs from 7:55 entry for students, with classes from 8:00 to 18:00. There is a lunch break from 12:55 to 14:05 and a mid‑afternoon break from 16:00 to 16:15. Administrative offices are open 8:00–17:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 8:00–13:00 on Wednesdays.

The LFCL offers only the general track. From Seconde to Terminale, it follows the French national education program. The mission is to ensure the success of each pupil and prepare them for higher education. The Seconde year aims to keep the widest range of choices, providing a common general culture while allowing exploration of literary, economic, scientific, or technological fields. It combines common teachings (80% of the timetable) with optional exploratory teachings; among them one is compulsory in economics. From Seconde onward, students may choose the general section, the international section (BFI) French/Portuguese/English, and the European section English/Mathematics. The Portuguese International Section begins in Seconde and provides a preferred pathway to entry into BFI. In Portuguese: 4 hours of Portuguese (4h in the general section plus 2h specific to SiP); 4 hours of History-Geography (adaptation of the French program, 2h in French and 2h in Portuguese). In English: the number of hours remains unchanged (3h), but foundations of methodology and literary analysis are taught in preparation for Première. In the BFI track (from Première to Terminale): two new subjects are introduced: Connaissances Du Monde (CDM) in Portuguese and Accompagnement Culturel et Linguistique (ACL) in English; History-Geography is taught in French (2h) and Portuguese (2h).

The school prepares students for higher education.

Enrollment 2026-2027 – Admissions process. Applications are for new students only; current LFCL students enroll via the regular process. The process comprises nine steps: 1. Create your account by clicking lfcl-lisbonne.eduka.school; 2) Choose the option that matches your situation; 3) Click the activation link you will receive by email (only for new accounts); 4) Sign in and click Admissions; 5) Create a new dossier for 2026/27; 6) Fill in the information about your child; 7) Complete the process by clicking Submit an enrollment request and attach the requested documents; 8) After submission you will receive a confirmation email; 9) An admissions committee will meet soon and send the decision by email. For preschool intake, the classes are Petite section for children born in 2023, Moyenne section for children born in 2022, Grande section for children born in 2021. Admission is based on vacancies. As an AEFE direct-management establishment LFCL guarantees priority to French children living outside France, and admission criteria will be based on this mission. The procedure has two phases: 1. admission request; 2) final enrollment for admitted students by paying the first registration fee. 1/ Admission request: four outcomes are possible: acceptance of the admission request; request for additional information and/or scheduling of a meeting; placement on a waiting list; or refusal of admission. 2/ Final enrollment: families whose children were admitted must complete enrollment within seven days of notification; if not, the vacancy may be offered to another child. AEFE Scholarship: Scholarships are available to students of French nationality living abroad, generally enrolled in a ministry approved school, and registered in the World Register of French nationals living outside France. Awards are based on financial resources and are not cumulative with CAF family allowances; the application is typically filed through the consular post and reviewed by the consular scholarship council; the scholarship applies for the current school year and must be renewed annually, independently of the school enrollment. AESH support may be provided for students with disabilities; the LFCL AESH program is funded by the family; the process follows AEFE circulars. LFCL Solidarity Fund provides financial assistance to families in hardship; funds come from voluntary family contributions and donations; eligibility is based on socio-economic criteria including movable and real estate assets, and can cover tuition, semi-intern status, health services, travel, textbooks, clothing, equipment, etc; under AEFE directives, aid cannot cover the difference for those already receiving state scholarships.

Waiting list is a possible outcome during the admissions process; the nine step procedure includes placement on a waiting list as one of the responses to an admission request.
