LFIP is located in Porto, Portugal, in the Parc de Serralves area. It has been welcoming students since 1963. The school serves students from preschool through the final year of lycée.
Preschool through high school (Maternelle to Terminale).
French international school.
The LFIP is part of the AEFE network and its programs follow the French Ministry of Education and are recognized by the Portuguese government.
Opening hours: 8:00–19:00; Maternelle and Primary classes: 8:45–16:35; Collège and Lycée classes: 8:25–17:00.
LFIP school transport is provided in partnership with TRANSVIAGENS. Nearby Porto municipal bus lines include 203 (Marquês to Castelo do Queijo), 207 (Mercado da Foz to Campanhã), and 504 (Norte Shopping to Boavista).
Application and registration fees
- New application (frais de dossier) charged at EUR 50 when submitting a new registration file.
- First enrolment (1st inscription) fee: EUR 1,030.
- Re‑registration (réinscription) fees for the 2026–2027 campaign: EUR 550 if paid before 28/02/2026; EUR 650 for payments from 01/03/2026 to 30/04/2026.
Tuition fees (school year payment options and amounts)
Tuition amounts are shown by level with the four available billing options: full year (payment before 30/06), quarterly (x3), monthly over 10 months (x10) or monthly over 11 months (x11).
- Maternelle: EUR 5,683 per year; EUR 1,933 per trimestre (x3); EUR 611 per month (x10); EUR 556 per month (x11).
- Primaire: EUR 5,389 per year; EUR 1,833 per trimestre (x3); EUR 575 per month (x10); EUR 523 per month (x11).
- Collège: EUR 6,027 per year; EUR 2,050 per trimestre (x3); EUR 645 per month (x10); EUR 586 per month (x11).
- Lycée: EUR 6,615 per year; EUR 2,250 per trimestre (x3); EUR 707 per month (x10); EUR 643 per month (x11).
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Monthly payments must be made in advance no later than the 10th of the relevant month (preferred method: Multibanco).
- Quarterly payment due dates (trimesters): 1st quarter due 30 September (or last business day of that month), 2nd quarter due 31 January (or last business day of that month), 3rd quarter due 30 April (or last business day of that month).
- Option to pay annually (single payment) is available if settled before 30 June of the year in question.
- Option to pay monthly is available over 10 or 11 monthly instalments (September–June or September–July); the payment schedule chosen at registration remains fixed for that school year.
- If payment deadlines are not respected or an automatic collection is rejected, an unpaid trimester amount may be converted into a monthly payment spread over 10 months.
- Late payments are subject to a surcharge of 5%. Failure to regularize payments can prevent re‑registration and may lead to debt collection procedures.
Family discounts
- Discount on tuition for families with more than one child at the school: 10% for the 2nd child, 20% for the 3rd child, 40% for the 4th child and subsequent children.
Optional services and recurring charges
- Garderie (after‑school care) 17:00–19:00: fixed fee EUR 30 per month billed over 10 months. For occasional use, arrangements are handled via the school secretariat.
- School meals (cantine) — monthly forfait prices: for 5 days/week: Maternelle EUR 88; Primaire/Secondaire EUR 92. Other forfait options: 4 days — EUR 72 (Maternelle) / EUR 74 (Primaire/Secondaire); 3 days — EUR 55 / EUR 61; 2 days — EUR 38 / EUR 42; 1 day — EUR 19.50 / EUR 21.00. Occasional meal price range shown as EUR 6.40 to EUR 7.50 depending on level. Optional services (restaurant, transport, and extra‑school activities) are billed monthly.
- Transport scolaire: published monthly zone fares for school transport (example from published flyer): one trip/day (monthly) Zone B (<10 km) EUR 80; two trips/day Zone B EUR 138; Zone C (10–15 km) EUR 165 (1 trip)/EUR 205 (2 trips); Zone E (>15 km) EUR 275 (1 or 2 trip pricing varies by circuit). Single‑ride price example: EUR 8 per journey. Specific routes and zones are published for each circuit. Transport is operated in partnership with an external carrier and is billed as a recurring monthly service.
Uniforms and school shop (other compulsory / optional purchases)
- The school operates a boutique selling uniform items and accessories. Example retail prices: sweatpants EUR 20; sweatshirt EUR 20; T‑shirts EUR 7.50 (white) / EUR 8.50 (black); cap EUR 7.50; aluminium water bottle EUR 11; stainless steel water bottle EUR 17; waterproof windcheater EUR 16; football kit EUR 35; backpack EUR 20; full football kit + 2 sets + bag EUR 75. Uniform items are available at reception.
- Registration and re‑registration cover school materials and the student insurance (these items are included in the registration fee).
Boarding
- The Lycée Français International de Porto does not offer boarding facilities; boarding fees are not applicable.
Refund and cancellation rules
- Fees paid for first enrolment and annual registration are non‑refundable in the event of cancellation.
- In case of withdrawal (désistement), amounts already paid will not be refunded; any period (month or trimester) already started remains due in full.
- No reduction of fees is granted for absence from classes or non‑use of services, except in limited cases: for school restaurant and transport a reduction may be considered for absences longer than fifteen consecutive days for medical reasons and only upon written request with a medical certificate.
- Trimestres already started are due in full; exceptional remissions may be granted only in cases of force majeure upon written request.
Payment methods and practical payment information
- Preferred payment method: Multibanco (Portuguese entity/reference payment system) for monthly payments.
- SEPA Direct Debit / automatic debit is available; a SEPA direct debit mandate form is provided for families choosing recurring debit.
- Optional annual, quarterly or monthly instalment plans are available as described above; services billed monthly (canteen, transport, activities) are paid on a monthly basis.
- Failure to respect payment deadlines may result in conversion of the schedule, surcharges, and administrative actions as described in the financial regulations.
LFIP Porto delivers the French national curriculum to students aged 3 to 18 in an international setting. As a member of the AEFE network, its programs follow the French Ministry of Education and are recognized by the Portuguese government. The school prepares learners for the Baccalaureate, with qualifications recognized for higher education in France, Portugal, and worldwide. By graduation, students master four languages—French, Portuguese, English, and German or Spanish—while an English European Section deepens English in Life Sciences, Economics, and Social Sciences. There is a strong emphasis on Portuguese language and history, alongside a progressive approach that combines active learning, collaboration, critical thinking, and real‑world applications. LFIP offers a distinctive global network and individualized student support. Facilities include on‑site dining, a major library and documentation center (CDI), health services, and school transport.
