Students are prepared to study in both Portuguese and English/International systems. They are expected to be independent, confident learners who read fluently, write clearly, and understand mathematics in everyday contexts. They learn to locate information, use technology, and work independently or in groups to solve problems. The school teaches in English and Portuguese, with time divided equally between the two languages and curricula; by the time most children are ready to move on, they may continue their studies in the English/International system at St George's School for Years 8–10 (ages 10–14).
