Al Jazeera Academy opened in September 2002 as a modern international school. The campus houses three schools—Nursery/Primary, Secondary Girls, and Secondary Boys—on a single site. The academy is part of the Ta'allum Group, which operates three Doha academies under an Emiri Decree and is overseen by GSSG (Ghanim Bin Saad Al Saad & Sons Group). In lower years (Kindergarten to Year 3) students learn in a co-educational setting, while from Year 4 onward boys and girls are taught in separate wings within the same campus. Ta'allum academies carry Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation, and Al Jazeera Academy has earned a five-year Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA).
The school community reflects its diverse student body and welcoming stance toward different cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds. The four pillars of its mission are Educational Excellence, Islamic Values, E-Learning, and Qatari Identification, guiding school life. Tarbeya, a Ta'allum-affiliated center, supports Islamic values through programs such as Tarbeya projects, scout camps, and cultural competitions that engage students beyond the classroom. The school supports student clubs, leadership opportunities, and cultural events as part of building a connected, inclusive community.
The Parents' Committee comprises dedicated parents who work closely with school leadership. The PC aims to assist in advancing the school's mission, objectives, and learner outcomes, and provides a forum to inform and consult on policy, plans and activities. It communicates parents' views and participates, from time to time, in Ta'allum Group Parents' Committees alongside other Ta'allum schools. The PC meets regularly, with the Principal acting as the PC Senior Leader and bi‑annual input from representatives of the Board of Management. The PC will not be involved in internal administrative matters of the school.
