AWIS operates a school uniform. The Main Uniform includes a white polo shirt, navy shorts or trousers, a navy skirt/pinafore/skort, a navy and white checked summer dress, a navy blue jumper, and black shoes with white socks. The PE Uniform comprises a navy blue polo shirt, white shorts, navy tracksuit bottoms, a navy jumper, and trainers with white socks; the House Team Uniform uses a house-coloured polo shirt, white shorts, a navy jumper and trainers. All uniform items are held in stock at the School Office, with samples available to try on, and discounted uniform packs are offered to help new students meet the requirements.
There is no on-site canteen at AWIS. Students bring a packed lunch, and the day includes breaks for eating; a snack break and a longer mid-morning break are part of the timetable. There is no cafeteria on-site, and guidance is provided on typical lunch contents to bring. After School Club is available for or after-hours care.
AWIS assigns every student to one of four Houses: Red Falcons, Blue Dugongs, Yellow Camels and Green Oryx. Students participate in a range of individual and team events and inter-house competitions, with points awarded to each house; Year 5 and 6 students are appointed as House Captains each year.
