AWIS is located in Zone 66, Street 745, Building 20, Dohat Al Khaima Street in the Leqtaifiya / West Bay Lagoon Area of Doha, Qatar. The campus includes a library overseen by a Library Coordinator, and an office and administration team supports the learning environment. Year Groups and Key Stages are organized in line with the English National Curriculum, and Arabic language instruction is provided to all students with Qatar History taught to native and non-native speakers as appropriate. The curriculum emphasizes international best practice and reflects Qatar's identity in learning. All class teachers are native English-speaking professionals who contribute to the school's English-language learning environment.
The curriculum follows the National Curriculum of England, supplemented by the IEYC and IPC frameworks. Arabic language and Islamic Studies are taught, with Arabic instruction delivered to all students and English instruction provided for non-Arabic speakers; Qatar History is taught in Arabic to native speakers. Year Groups are organized in accordance with the English National Curriculum. The staff includes native English-speaking class teachers supported by teaching assistants and learning support staff.
AWIS offers a range of Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs), including both internal and external options. Internal ECAs are teacher-led, provided free of charge for Years 1–6, typically running between 14:00 and 15:00 in blocks of five weeks, with students limited to one teacher-led activity on a first-come, first-served basis. Typical internal ECAs include football, sports, ICT skills and singing. External ECAs are provided by outside agencies at additional cost, with examples such as Fitness Funsters, WeDo 2.0, Tennis & Badminton, Martial Arts, Ballet and Science.
