Doha Academy opened in September 2000 as an independent, privately owned day school in Doha, following the national curriculum for England. It is supported by Al-Faleh Educational Holding and administered by a Board of Directors chaired by Sheikha Aisha Bint Faleh Al Thani. In 2014, expanding numbers led to the opening of a purpose-built Al-Waab campus to house EYFS, primary and secondary sections. Doha Academy operates across three licensed campuses—Al Waab, Salwa, and Doha International Kindergarten (DIKg)—providing KG-13 education with a British-based curriculum integrated with Islamic teachings. The school has pursued national and international accreditation, including Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) for its Al Waab and Salwa branches.
Doha Academy maintains an active school community across its Al Waab and Salwa campuses, with events that bring together students, families, and guests. Art Matters 2024 expo opened at Doha Academy Al Waab Campus auditorium, featuring over 250 artworks by students from Year 1 to Year 12 across Al Waab and Salwa Branches, and was designed to foster engagement with parents and the wider school community. Graduation ceremonies across Al Waab, Salwa and DIKg campuses in 2024 were attended by families and included speeches, Qur'an readings and awards. National Identity-related events in 2025 included a showcase with bilingual presentations in French and English and involvement of guests and staff. Media coverage of these events underscores the school's role as a community hub.
Public materials describe parent involvement through events rather than detailing a formal PTA. Examples of events include Art Matters 2024, which involved parents and the wider school community; Art Matters 2024 coverage in The Peninsula Qatar notes parent engagement. Doha Academy hosted six graduation ceremonies across its Al Waab, Salwa and Doha International Kindergarten campuses in 2024, with family attendance, speeches, Qur'an readings and awards. National Identity-related events in 2025 included bilingual student work and guest presentations, reflecting ongoing parent and community participation in school life. The school's public coverage of these events demonstrates a strong emphasis on family and community involvement in student achievement.
