Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Doha British School operates as a three-campus British international school cluster in Qatar. The Ain Khaled campus opened in 1997, establishing the school's presence in Doha; the Al Wakra campus opened in 2014, and the Rawdat Al Hamama campus followed in 2022 as part of the DBS expansion. The DBS cluster is owned, managed and operated by ACES (Artan Consulting and Educational Services), which coordinates governance across the campuses. The group is accredited by CIS, British Schools Overseas (BSO), British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) and Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA).

Community

The Doha British School community spans multiple campuses and serves thousands of students with a traditional British pastoral provision and a focus on character development. The schools emphasise Arabic language and Islamic Studies as part of their curriculum and offer multiple modern languages, including French, Spanish and Arabic. Community life is visible through school-wide events that bring students, staff and families together, including performances and celebrations across campuses. Activities and events reflect a multilingual, values-driven approach to learning across Ain Khaled, Al Wakra and Rawdat Al Hamama.

Parent-Teacher Association

Public information does not indicate a formal PTA, but parent involvement is evident through organized family events and engagement opportunities across the DBS cluster. For example, the 25th anniversary DBS Carnival on 29 October 2022 brought together students, parents and staff from all three campuses, with parents participating as vendors. The school also hosts Got Talent shows that involve families and hosts Campus Discovery Tours to welcome prospective parents to visit Rawdat Al Hamama. International Day at DBS is part of the calendar and provides additional family engagement moments. Across the three campuses, ACES coordinates activity and community life, supporting shared events and partnerships.
