Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Newton Group of Schools was founded in 2006 by Dr. Jabr Al-Noaimi and Afaf Al-Moadhadi, establishing a private network of English-curriculum schools in Qatar. The group grew from a humble start—initially a school in two villas with about 200 students in 2006—to a wider network across Doha with multiple campuses. Newton International School D Ring opened on 1 March 2019 as part of the Newton Group, joining the British-Curriculum schools operated by the group. The D Ring campus remains part of the Newton Group and carries accreditations from British bodies, including British Schools Overseas (BSO) and Qatar National Schools Accreditation (QNSA); the group has also earned recognitions for wellbeing and Philosophy for Children programmes.
Newton International School D Ring fosters an international community of learners who strive for excellence and celebrate success. The campus supports a range of provision to develop well-being and leadership, including Wake and Shake in the morning, termly after-school ECAs in Arts, Sports, Academic and Creative activities, and a School Garden for environmental learning. It also offers dedicated spaces and programmes such as Sensory Rooms and an IT Club to support regulatory needs and digital skills, and provides student leadership opportunities including a School Council, Restorative Champions, Librarians, Playground Buddies, Eco Committee, and Learning Support. Community events are organized by students and staff, with activities and trips such as Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Pink Day, and visits to cultural sites (e.g., the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum).
The Parent Teacher Association is a volunteer body of teachers and parents who help organise school events. The main aims are to encourage closer links between home and school, to strengthen links between home, school and community, to foster an interest in the educational processes of the school, and to engage in a range of activities and events – social and educational – to enhance school life. The day-to-day running of the PTA is led by a small committee of elected members at the inaugural meeting at the start of each new academic year. Parents are invited to get involved, share fresh ideas, and are not required to attend every meeting or take on commitments that do not fit their schedules. To learn more or to arrange a discussion, parents can contact the School Reception to speak with a member of the senior management team.
