Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Valley Forge Academy Qatar opened in August 2022 at Aspire Zone 2 in Doha as the Qatar campus of Valley Forge Military Academy and College in Pennsylvania. The project was a collaboration between Valley Forge Military Academy and Valley Forge Academy Qatar and marked VFMA's first international outreach since its founding in 1928. The initial cohort enrolled 171 students and offered Pre-K through Grade 7, with plans to expand to higher grades in subsequent years. The curriculum combines an American framework with Arabic language instruction, Islamic studies, and Qatari cultural values.

Community

Valley Forge Academy Qatar's community blends American school culture with Arabic language and Qatari values. The Here From Our Community section features parent voices, including Abdullah Hammouda (the Arabic text translates to a sentiment that parents invest in their children and strive for excellence to secure a bright future) and Abou Khaled (Gr3) noting positive changes in their children. A grand opening event in January 2023 marked a key community milestone, with a ribbon-cutting and a parade featuring a color guard. Extracurricular offerings include sports and e-sports, debate team, Model UN, music and theatre, and opportunities for leadership and student government which engage families beyond the classroom.

Parent-Teacher Association

There is no publicly documented Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for Valley Forge Academy Qatar on the publicly accessible site. The For Parents page shows general resources (Enrollment Agreement, Meal Plan, important links) and a Student-Parent Portal, but it does not list a PTA or PTA activities. Parent engagement is facilitated through these resources and direct homeroom communications via the Student-Parent Portal (Schoology). Extracurricular offerings provide family involvement around student activities such as the Volunteer Service Club, Debate Team, Model UN, and other clubs that support student leadership and community engagement. Public events such as the 2023 grand opening demonstrate community involvement with families, but there is no documented PTA event calendar or fundraising activity. For PTA-specific information, contact the school directly via admissions or the parent information page.
