ISB was founded in 1996. It is a non-profit day school providing a British-style education for children aged two and a half years to 19 years. A purpose-built campus opened in 2008 in the eastern part of Bucharest. ISB has been fully accredited by the Council of International Schools since August 2012 and is an IB World School authorized to offer the Diploma Programme from September 2017.
The ISB describes its community as a connected school community of students, teachers, leaders, parents, alumni and the wider school who learn from each other in a collaborative environment inside and outside the school. International Day Food Fair is organized as part of ISB's community life with involvement from the PTA. Busy Bee, a Parents and Toddlers Playgroup, provides regular activities for ISB families.
The PTA is a link between the parents and teachers within the school with the common aim of creating the best possible learning environment for our students. All parents and teachers are automatically members of the PTA. The PTA organizes events and activities as part of ISB life, including the International Day Food Fair. The PTA collaborates with school staff to support student learning and community engagement.
