Ntare Louisenlund School offers an internationally recognized curriculum with a STEM focus. Learning is personalized and inquiry-driven, with each student following a tailored path within a structured day and supported by mentors. The school runs Rwanda's plus-STEM Programme, identifying talent in mathematics, science, and technology and providing mentorship, real‑world research experiences, and access to a national center of excellence. Students maintain a digital e-portfolio to document learning progress and support university applications.
Students have access to diverse co-curricular programs that foster creative growth, including theatre, woodworking, debate, language exchange, pottery, sewing, choir, orchestra, jazz band, and design. Co-curricular experiences follow the IB CAS framework and include service, activity, and creativity components. English and German are the languages of instruction. The school has an international community with global experiences while honoring local traditions. German language study is integrated into the six-year program, with students working toward at least B1 level. Ntare Louisenlund is connected to Louisenlund Foundation and participates in international networks, including Round Square, NEASC CIE, and GEBG.

Students participate in service learning, clubs, and community projects, including a First Responder Guild, lifeguarding, and support for local primary schools. Ntare Louisenlund Rwanda AG (merchandising and entrepreneurship) provides practical opportunities for student initiative and social impact.
Leadership is embedded in daily life, with mentor–mentee check-ins, peer mentorship, and opportunities to lead assemblies, clubs, and student enterprises. Older students mentor younger peers and take on responsibility through the Student Parliament and club leadership; many after-school programs are student-led. The curriculum emphasizes leadership development, entrepreneurship, and career preparation through social entrepreneurship initiatives, business and innovation experiences, and a digital portfolio to document growth.
Wellbeing is prioritized through daily advisory, peer circles, reflective journaling, and mentorship that support emotional wellness and personal growth. A House System of eight houses builds belonging, mentorship, and school spirit through rituals, competitions, and service initiatives. The program includes athletics such as swimming, football, cricket, tennis, and other activities to promote physical health and balanced living.
Ntare Louisenlund School is Rwanda's boarding school offering an IB curriculum with a STEM focus. Rooted in Kurt Hahn and Maria Montessori traditions and updated by contemporary science, learning is personalised in groups of about 20, supported by house systems. An e-portfolio documents progress for learning and university applications. The school is an IB World School, a Round Square member, and a member of NEASC CIE and GEBG; instruction is in English and German, with German study toward at least B1. It maintains a partnership with the Rwanda Ministry of Education and pursues IB authorization with MYP candidacy. The campus hosts five laboratories, learning studios, and seminar rooms, plus sports facilities, and uses ManageBac for digital resources.
