Founded in 2004 by Christian Life Assembly in Rwanda to provide a Christ-centered education that integrates Biblical values. Wellspring Academy opened in January 2007 with Foundation to Grade 3, serving 107 students and 7 teachers, led by the first principal Rosette Muligande. In 2010, Primary 6 National Exam results placed all students in Rwanda's Division 1 rankings. In 2014, the school transitioned from the Rwandan National Curriculum to the Cambridge International Curriculum, and in 2018 Wellspring Academy was officially recognised as a Cambridge International School. Wellspring celebrated its first Grade 12 graduation in 2015, and in 2020 taught online during the Coronavirus lockdown.
Wellspring Academy Kigali Rwanda describes itself as a Christ-centered community committed to educating and equipping students to become skilled, godly leaders and agents of community transformation. The mission emphasizes social responsibility, including care for others and commitment to Biblical values of family, community and nation. The school engages with the wider community through initiatives such as Early Child Development Outreach, where students donated funds and supplies to an ECD center in Ibuga Village, Kicukiro District. The school highlights Faith-Based Education, Dedicated Cambridge Teachers, Safe & Inclusive Environment, Strong Academic Results, and Extra-Curricular Activities as core features.
Wellspring Academy Kigali delivers a Cambridge International education for ages 3 to 18. Founded 2004 by Christian Life Assembly and expanding in 2007; transitioned to Cambridge curriculum in 2014 and recognised as a Cambridge International School in 2018. The school teaches Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge A Levels; Language of instruction is English, with Kinyarwanda taught and French introduced as a third language. The campus houses three science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, a secondary ICT Lab, a library, an Art Room and a Music Room where Amaraba, the cultural troupe, rehearses. Sports facilities include two basketball courts, a soccer field, and a volleyball court, with inter-school competitions. The curriculum blends rigorous Cambridge courses with a Christian environment that fosters leadership and community service. Students engage in Culture Day events, Early Child Development outreach, and other service projects, contributing to local communities while developing godly leadership and lasting achievement.
