Alafaq International School was established in 1425/1426 AH, 2004/2005 AD. The school is not-for-profit and aims to educate and create a distinguished generation in education and technology, focusing on higher-order thinking and life skills to support student interaction with the surrounding community and later in school, university, and professional life. It began as a kindergarten and has grown to offer Pre-K through grade twelve. A modern building was constructed in the western Nakhil neighborhood, which is the current campus, equipped with modern learning technologies, spacious classrooms, and up-to-date teaching methods. The administration seeks to continuously update and develop in all scientific and educational fields to become one of the best schools in the country at the regional level.
Alafaq Schools maintain an active school community with a calendar of events throughout the year. In 2025, events included National Day celebrations, Breast Cancer Awareness, Cyber Security activities, trips, Space Day, and Splash Day. An events gallery presents photographs from Saudi National Day celebrations and other activities. These events involve students across grade levels and foster engagement with national and global themes.
A formal Parent-Teacher Association is not described in publicly accessible materials. Parent communication occurs through the school's portals for parents and students, which include Orison, SAVVAS, Teams, and Extra Marks. The school provides a general contact channel for inquiries, including the Riyadh address and phone number. Public materials show routine parent engagement through announcements and digital portals rather than a PTA-structured program. If a PTA exists, its activities and meeting cadence are not published in the available materials.
